Ceiling Medallions Print

September 14th, 2012

Ceiling Medallions around a light fixture add architectural interest to any room. Although in times past, these were crafted in plaster, marble, or iron, today plastic ones can be found in most hardware stores for a very reasonable price. And once painted, they look like the real thing. Ceiling medallions are particularly lovely in bedrooms where time is spent gazing at the ceiling. alt

To be esthetically correct, the circumference of the medallion should either be larger or smaller than your light fixture and should compliment the architectural style of the room. For Sonia’s traditional décor, we selected an ornate medallion. Before affixing it to the ceiling, we painted it a cream color to match her soft peachy pink walls and cream ceiling. We then outlined the architectural lines with gold paint to accentuate the ornate design.
