The Long Winter
Heart to Heart

We just finished The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder describing a family’s fortitude through a very treacherous, long, hard winter which nearly cost them their lives. If it wasn’t for their faith, courage, perseverance, and determination to survive, they would have died. Long, hard, tedious, trying, often seemingly unbearable, they suffered immeasurably through a very tough trial, but spring returned, warming their hearts and refreshing their souls.

Are you in the midst of a long, hard winter? Tired and discouraged, have you suffered so much that another storm seems totally unbearable? Have faith! Persevere! And with undaunted courage, determine to survive. Remember, spring always returns.
