Sonia and I just finished devouring Skitch and Ruth Henderson’s Seasons in the Country: Good Food for Family and Friends. As we snuggled together in bed, we took turns reading about the Hendersons’ feasts on their 200-acre Hunt Hill farm. Selections such as Tomato Marmalade, Gaisburger Marsch, Bauernfruhstuck, Windbeutel, Schupfnudeln, and Old Fashioned Buttermilk Doughnuts were added to our repertoire of new recipes to try this winter. Sharing a love for cooking, a love for beautiful cookbooks, a love for new recipes, and taking the time to truly share them together knits a daughter’s heart to her mother’s.
