"Show me your friends, and I will show you your future"
Heart to Heart

Dear Families,

As this new school year commences, let us caution you to be wise in choosing companions for your family. Over the past two years, a multitude of families have come to us to discuss their concern over friendships that some of our families and young people have forged with other families who do not share the same convictions and their distress over how drastically these unwise alliances have altered the young people involved. Sadly, some of these friendships have destroyed the dynamics of families who were truly striving for covenantal faithfulness, all because parents did not protect their children.

“Show me your friends, and I will show you your future” is truly biblical, yet many families disregard God’s warning that “bad company corrupts good morals” when it comes to homeschoolers, mainly because they think that all homeschoolers are Christian. That is plain foolishness because wherever there are sheep, there are wolves in sheep’s clothing who come to devour the weak and undiscerning. Then, of course, there are those families who are so desirous for friends that they take whatever comes their way. Therefore, let us urge you to grasp the seriousness of your duty to protect your children from corruption and guide them in wisdom.

Our meetings and activities are building up a body of families who are faithful to the multigenerational family covenant, who understand the vast importance of a community of like-minded covenanted families who support, strengthen, and protect CHEF, and CHEF families, as we go forward taking dominion of our culture for the glory of Christ!

For 27 years, we have been committed to building up this faithful body and will continue to promote and strengthen you and your family in this understanding at each of our family activities, meetings, and conferences, and in our conversations with you and your children. Whether you have very young children, or older children, it is never too early or never too late to begin casting this vision for your own family because what we do today will impact our posterity for generations to come. So please join us and other faithful families as we “rebuild the ancient ruins” and “raise up the age-old foundations” (Isaiah 58:12) to the glory of God!

Faithfully Yours, Jon and Candy
